I hired Dale Glenn in March to do several jobs in my home.
At first it seemed as though Dale was on top of my projects. We soon found out that this was far from the case. All projects were supposed to be completed within 2 weeks according to Dale. Four months later they still aren't complete. I have been given dozens of completion dates that have come and gone, and excuses that range from 3 deaths, to drunk workers, to hospitalization, to his son-in-law leaving his daughter, as to why nothing is completed. In final form he took a deposit on carpeting that 3 months later never showed up. He has been promising to return my deposit for two months and has not done so. He just keeps giving me new excuses and dates.
He left several jobs undone and the ones that were done left my home destroyed. In total, to get the money back I paid this man and fix what he destroyed is over $17,000. I will provide pictures of the work if needed. I strongly recommend against using this contractor and suggest you check Missouri Case Net for his background prior to hiring him. I wish I would have.
Dale came to the home to provide a bid to build a deck. He put his proposal in contract and documented the payments and steps he would take to finalize the job on March 10, 2015. After 3 months of long winded excuses that were of personal nature and never professional, we requested our first payment of $6,500.00 back and agreed that we would like our job finished and it was best to get our money back. Dale Glenn agreed. We have this documentation in writing.
Since May 30th Dale Glenn has come up with four different excuses to not return the money. He told us he ordered materials through a company and needed to wait for the refund check which would take 3 weeks. We indeed waited, although he could not provide the company he ordered from, the receipt, the order number or any other proof.
Most recent communication was the claim that he was in the hospital for stress tests that have taken three weeks. We have given final notice and now suing him and his daughter, Lauren Kennedy who he claimed cashed our check. We are not certain this is indeed his daughter. Our bank is reporting the check stolen as he is now not responding to emails or text messages.
Extremely sad situation as we have allowed for as much time as we could to simply receive our refund when he never did a single thing but take a check. We have to go through Associate Circuit Court because of the amount we are suing him for.
We learned our lesson as this also hurts so many great people out there in this business. Please share any information you may have on this man. He lives in Wright City, MO 63390. We will contact KMOV, Better Business Bureau and the attorney general's office.
Any documentation of emails received by Dale Glenn are available.
