  • Craigslist Yoga Roommate is a Scam

Adalyne McLimans responsed to a listing for a roommate stating she is looking to move from 1920 Monte Vista Dr, Rapid City, SD 57702. When I asked specific questions regarding the timeframe of what she’s looking to move in or her budget, she only responded with generic non-direct answers (same language as previous post about her). From her initial response I believed she was a scam, but wanted to double check and when I entered her address to see if anything came up and it seems like Adalyne has done this to multiple people.

  • Adeline McKinney Yoga Nurse

I responded to a looking for roommate post. She responded back, I received the following email, as already seen on this site:

Hello, I am looking to rent soon and i think its fair to let you know about me, My name's Adeline McKinney, 27y/o single female, easygoing and fun to be around. I don't smoke, drink nor do drugs. I clean up after myself, as well as my environment, I am respectful of other people's privacy and opinions. I am pet friendly but do not own any. I'm from Rapid City, S.Dakota and the reason behind my move is simply because of change. And this is about time as i just lost my mother to cancer (I have been putting off my move just because she's been sick for long). I have been wanting to try a new place, have new experience, and most importantly achieve my goals. I am a travel Nurse by profession, but teaching yoga is what i love doing, I have broad knowledge of yoga/wellness as i had the opportunity to learn that in India 3 years ago and i have been teaching people here too. I am a christian, and yoga to me is about the purity of the body and mind/improving health and I will never bring it home if you object to it. About rent, I have money saved up, so you wouldn't have to worry about me paying rent/bills on time till i get settled. I plan making my own yoga video and I also will be looking to rent a space in the area(or maybe gym) when i move, as i planned giving yoga classes to people there when i move. I am financially reliable and it has been a plus making money from teaching yoga as a lot of people look after themselves now in an easy way. I will like to find a place before i start looking around for something physical/permanent at hospitals there too. I choose to tell you all about me as i need no drama, so please email me back if you are looking to rent ASAP and let me know if i am someone you'd like to rent to. I will provide my number, pics as long as i am sure that you'd be renting to me in next emails. Thanks for your time and i await your next email with details.

We exchanged a few more emails, all seemed legit, then certified check came out, and every thing was happening super fast, and my too good to be true radar went off, so I did a basic search and found it all to be a scam. Be aware, be safe it would seem. Thanks to those before who reported and saved me the trouble.

  • Vacation Rental Home Scam

This person steals photos of legitimate rent houses (he's done this multiple times for houses owned by New Braunfels Escapes) then he posts ads on Craigslist, he even offers to send you a contract and everything to make it seem very legitimate. Luckily I reverse google image searched and found the company website where the house was actually listed, called and asked if they ever advertise on Craigslist.
The woman said no and thank god I had called and checked first because the guy has EVERYTHING set up to look like that company. The week before last they had a family of 14 drive down from Dallas and walk in the leasing office thinking that they had a reservation. Obviously it was a scam. This person is garbage.

  • Craigslist Rental Scam Jacksonville, Florida Felony Deception of Theft

Warning to anyone who comes in contact with Paul Liguori from Jacksonville, Florida.I was a victim of a Craigslist rental scam and felony theft on April 12, 2017.

Paul rented me a room at 952 Collinswood DR W Jacksonville, Florida 32225 for $350.00. He told me he and his father own the house. When I came back having front door keys made, Paul was gone and I met a man in the driveway named Evans who asked me who I was and told him I was the new tenant. He had no idea I was moving in and was unhappy and rude about it.

I called Paul and said, I had words with a tenant you never told me about and you miss lead me how many people were living here and I wanted my money back and leave peacefully. He told me he would give me my money back noon the next day. I text him and said I will go meet him somewhere and go to the ATM machine. He ignored my calls and text then later sent nasty messages I disrespected him.

I spoke to Evans asking what is going around here? He told me Paul's father did not own the house and we are getting evicted. The next day I showed up and walked into the house finding a man name Victor moving into my room. I told him Paul ripped me off and showed him my text messages.

Victor said, when he paid Paul cash, he ran up stairs saying he was in a hurry and had do some laundry. I said, there is a washer and dryer upstairs. I used it last night. I told him the owner is kicking everyone out of the house.

He realized too he was scammed and robbed. We found in the kitchen an assault and battery police report from the owner Mylene Mathews, past due bills and and an eviction notice from March 9th from Mylene Mathews. We called and text Paul and our calls were blocked. We saw Paul's bedroom door was kicked in and trashed thinking must be a heroine addict with the syringe on the bed.

We spoke to the Jacksonville Sheriff's office and told it was civil matter.

Paul Liguori also has a business under the Name Paul Liguori LLC. A small company in the flooring and floor covering contractors industry in Jacksonville, FL claiming $68,000 in revenue at an old address with a disconnected phone number.

  • Home Rental Scam, Sunnyslope, Phoenix, AZ

Mr. Lewis posted an advertisement for a house for rent in Sunnyslope, Phoenix, AZ for rent. Stated that he was in another state and had a personal assistant taking care of it for him and asked that I wire the deposit to him. After locating the home for rent and looking through the windows to see the home empty, I thought that it was a legitimate rental. I was desperate to find a place to live so I agreed to rent the home for my daughter and I. After not receiving the keys when promised and a demand to send more money to a person I Nigeria, which I did, I looked up the owner of the property on the county website to find that this was a scam. The address to the home was 1524 W. Sahuaro Drive, Phoenix, AZ 85029. When I texted Mr. Lewis, I did not get an answer as to why the ownership of the property is a local person. He continued to demand additional money for the property rental. I then proceeded to contact the person who's name is on the deed only to find out that the rent is much higher and it is a well-established corporation within the State of Arizona.

I browsed to look for houses for sale in my area. Found a great deal $800 a month utilities included, or rent to own for $80,000. The home was in great condition in Roseville, CA. So I then decided to request more information to set an appointment and tour the home. In the "request info" section there were several agents listed with the number of sales and star ratings next to their photo. I thought it was odd how the advertiser: [email protected] had no picture, no star ratings and no sales next to their profile. Only their email and phone number 336-355-8973 . so I messeged the agent that looked more legit. He did some searching, did not find the advertising agent in the database and then googled the phone number which led to this site.

I clicked on a property on for a rental unit at 3343 Tennis Hills Ln, Jacksonville FL 32277 at $800 a month with ALL utilities included! As stated in previous posts, this was too good to be true. So I sent an email message to [email protected] stating I was interested. Received a follow-up email right away and a Mr. Michael stating that he and his wife were living in N.Carolina and unable to show the inside of the home due to taking care of a sick son with cancer. They gave a lengthy application form (within the email, really!) asking for pertinent information to start the rental process. Common sense kicked in as this was not at all professional. Did a google search of the home, that showed it was being listed at higher rental prices with several rental agencies and that the owner's name was Daniel McDowell. I also googled the phone number 336-355-8973 which took me to this site. The things people do for a quick buck! Hope they get caught really soon.
