I had been selling a tablet on 5 miles, letgo & WALLAPOP for the past few weeks now.. serious inquiries on 5 miles.. however I kept recieving fishy messages on wallapop and letgo. after a few days I recieved a message from a lady named Stacy and she claimed she was intrested in purchasing my tablet but she was out of state and couldn't meet personally so she would send a check and I would cash for the item plus extra for holding it and running to bank ect. as well as extra money for the person picking up the item to cover their cost of running around and what not. After about a week of emailing back and forth I recieved a check in the mail for $1,690! On top of that it was "issued" from FOOD SERVICES OF AMERICA, of course thought it was shady, not to mention... its common sense. However I am new to the apps and thought I would go ahead and see what was up with the check.. I took it to my bank and of course they informed me it was fake & that it happens all the time.. these people send checks and of course over the amount, you keep yours plus some, give the rest away and once the chdck clears and comes up fraud you are held accountable for the funds uncovered. Of course I didnt deposit, had no intentions to.. but the reason I came across this forum is because I googled the number that the person is now contacting me from. These people are pathetic scam artist and need to be caught!
