A very interesting experience.I went to my first auction in San Francisco, saw the ad in the paper.
I decided that might be interesting to at least cross it off my bucket list. I walk into the room and lo and behold it is entire ballroom completely packed with more art and jewelry than I've seen in one place. It took about 90 minutes from start to end. I stayed towards the end because the auctioneer said they were going to have a raffle, which he did.
I didn't win. I coudnt buy because I told my wife I take her out to dinner that night and staying true to my word that's exactly what I did. Id definitely go back to the next one now, that I at least know the ground rules. The event actually had a catered lunch.
the auctioneer said that this is rare but sometimes they included in the rental fee.
I do feel slightly guilty (not really) for the free lunch and show.Fun neighborhood event.
